Terms of Service
By creating an account or using Vow, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Vow.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18, legally able to enter this agreement, and not barred from using dating services. One account per person.
2. Your account
Keep your login private and your information truthful. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
3. Community standards
Vow is for people seeking a committed, long-term relationship. Be respectful. No harassment, hate, threats, explicit content, scams, solicitation, impersonation, or misleading profiles. We may review reports, issue strikes, restrict or remove accounts that break these rules.
4. Meeting in person
Vow does not conduct criminal background checks and does not verify every statement members make. Profile verification, where offered, confirms limited information only. We recommend meeting in a public place, arranging your own transportation, and telling a friend your plans. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members, online and offline.
5. First Date Guarantee
The First Date Guarantee is optional and both members must accept it. Each member pays a $2.99 guarantee fee and authorizes a $5.00 hold. In summary:
- Cancel in the app 24+ hours before the date: both fees refunded and both holds released.
- Cancel later but before the date: your hold is released and your fee is kept; the other member is fully refunded.
- If you check in and the other member doesn’t show or cancel: your fee is refunded, your hold released, and you receive a $2.99 Vow credit funded by the other member’s captured hold.
- “Leave date (no penalty)” is available at any time: both fees refunded and both holds released.
- A member recorded as not showing has 24 hours to tap “I was there”. A person reviews it before any hold is captured.
The guarantee is a commitment mechanism, not a promise of any outcome, conduct or security. Full terms are shown in the app and accepted before payment.
6. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe under its terms. Except as described above or required by law, fees are non-refundable. Vow credits have no cash value and expire 12 months after issue.
7. Content
You keep ownership of content you post and grant Vow a license to host and display it to operate the service. Don’t post content you don’t have rights to.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms or to protect members or Vow.
9. Disclaimers
Vow is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee matches, dates, relationships, or the conduct of any member.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vow is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any conduct of members on or off the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid Vow in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. We’ll notify you of material changes, and continued use means you accept them.
